HUMIKUN
St. Beag
School character design assignment to design a boss from an existing video game. The game chosen was Fire Emblem Three Houses.
Fire Emblem does not usually have bosses in the traditional sense but it does have powerful enemies with major plot significance that play such roles. A common appearance of this is in the Saints in the game which take the form of dragons with celtic names.

Design Refinement
-
The dragons/saints in the Fire Emblem Three Houses universe not only look like your typical dragon but also take much inspiration from real world reptiles along with other flying adjacent mythical beasts like the gryphon.
-
Design 1, inspired by the frilled lizard, was chosen for its interesting silhouette potential
-
St Beag was given a muscular form very much inline with the other dragons in its universe, especially so in the pectoral region. Such muscles would be needed to support and flap its giant wings and such a physique is one that inspires power, worthy of a divine being.
-
The membrane of its wings take on a design more inspired by insects as butterflies in terms of its shape and patterns. This is to provide an otherwise texturally monotone design some visual interest to its most striking feature.
-
The colours were kept light and muted as is convention with others of its in universe species.
